What is Get events
Say hello to effortless data connectivity and streaming, regardless of whether your data originates from new or established sources, streams, or events. With the new Get events experience you are unlocking connectivity and streaming prowess in your Fabric Real-Time Intelligence journey.
Leveraging the Get events tool extends beyond mere data ingestion; it equips you to:
- Seamlessly connect and stream events with ease and flexibility from different stages in your journey; whether you’re in the Real-Time hub, Eventstreams, Eventhouse, or Data Activator.
- Generate both a stream and an eventstream with a few clicks, making it accessible and manageable within the Real-Time hub under Data streams.
- Enable fellow organization members to access streams you’ve established in Real-Time hub, empowering them to utilize and respond to vital data effectively.
- Subscribe to notifications and events from your Azure resources, such as Blob Storage accounts.
- Subscribe to Fabric events to understand when activity occurs in your workspace, such as when a new item is created, or an existing item is deleted.
- And this is just the beginning, there is so much more to come!
Regardless of where your data resides, Get events streamlines the process of browsing and searching for sources and streams, facilitating seamless connections. This allows you to transition smoothly to other stages of your Fabric journey.
Explore an extensive selection of data sources supported in Get events:
- External sources: Google Cloud Pub/Sub, Amazon Kinesis Data Streams, Confluent Cloud Kafka.
- Microsoft sources: Azure Event Hubs, Azure IoT hub.
- Change data capture databases: Azure SQL DB (CDC), PostgreSQL DB (CDC), Azure Cosmos DB (CDC), MySQL DB (CDC).
- Fabric events: Fabric Workspace Item events, Azure Blob Storage events.
How to use Get events
If you are in Real-Time hub, click on the “+ Get events” button on the upper right-hand corner to initiate the flow.
Choose the type of source you want to connect to from the list of available options.
Provide the required information for the selected source, such as connection details, credentials, and Eventstream name.
Create the source to generate a stream and an eventstream and start receiving real-time data from the specified source immediately.
If you’re starting your journey in Eventstream, just click “Add external source” to kickstart the process of getting events through the flow.
If you’re using Data Activator, simply click on “Get your data”, then decide whether you’d like to connect new sources or opt for existing ones available in the Real-Time hub to integrate the data into your service.
